Gucci sneakers, Prada shoes and Ava Jeans at Neiman Marcus. Nothing was too good for an East Hills community center receptionist - as long it came at the expense of center members. Authorities said Thursday that 22-year-old Elizabeth Young pleaded guilty to going on a three-month shopping spree with credit card information from 18 members of the Sid Jacobsen Jewish Community Center. She and some friends racked up more than $15,000 in purchases at such high-end stores as Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman and Saks Fifth Avenue. Young, who was arrested last December, pleaded guilty to first-degree felony identity theft, the top charge in her August indictment, Nassau County District Attorney Kathleen Rice said. Young is scheduled to appear in Nassau County Court on Jan.
Corzine vows to halve N.J. debt with toll hikes, bonds
ATLANTIC CITY � Governor Corzine said Thursday he would stake his political future on a yet-to-be-finalized plan to raise tolls on state roadways in order to slash the state's debt by half. "I am willing to risk losing my job if that's necessary to set our fiscal house in order and get New Jersey out from the debt burden constraining our future," Corzine said. .
